Here at LTCC we have a large garage capable of holding up to 5 cars at any given time. The shop has four vehicle lifts, three overhead and one drive on. The shop uses a 120psi 20 gallon air pump to power various shop air/pneumatic tools and power equipment. The shop has 8 computers all with internet access to aid in diagnosing vehicles. The garage is kept very neat and orderly. Spills are cleaned as they happen, tools are always put back in their place, and no table has stray parts on it at the end of the day. We take great pride in our garage, as we are very fortunate to have it.
Blue Point Tool Chests (x3)
Each tool box is equiped with only the best, Snap-On tools. Each chest has a 151 piece 3/8 + 1/4 inch tool kit, a 12 piece metric wrench set, 12 piece standard wrench set, (17, 19, & 21mm) 100ft torque sticks, Snap on autoranging digital multimeter, 3 piece pliers set, 7 piece screwdriver set, 1/2 ratchet and socket set, 3ft braker bar, 250ft pound torque wrench, 3/8 impact gun, 1/2 impact gun, 3/8 air ratchet, and a 3" cut off wheel. Tools are rented daily by tool managers via the use of thier school ID's. Tools are always kept clean and orderly like the day they came off the assembly line.
Tire Machine and Balancer
LTCC's tire machine is used to remove a tire from a rim and replace it with a new one. It can also be used to remove a tire with a nail in it, repair the tire, and reinstall it. The balancer is used to balance the new tire. Once the tire has been removed from the rim and reinstalled, the wheel assembly must be balanced. If it is not the steering wheel can wobble and cause erratic steering.
Brake Lathes (Drum + Disk)
LTCC's brake lathes are used to resurface old and worn out rotors. Today, most shop just replace the rotors with new ones. At LTCC we teach our students the proper way to re-cut the rotor to make it straight and true. This method saves the customer money. The draw back to re-cuting the rotor is that it takes time. Time is money... Both methods work great. At LTCC we teach both.
Solvent Tank / Parts Cleaner
Gas Emission Analyzers / Digital Oscilloscopes
Drill Press
Diagnostic Scan Tools (OBD1 + OBD2)
Over Head Lifts (x2)
When it comes to lifts LTCC has only the most recognizable and safest lifts on the market, Rotary Lifts. We are equipped with one symmetrical and two asymmetrical lift which allows for a variety of cars and trucks to be lifted. The asymmetrical lift allows for smaller & medium size cars to be pulled in at an angle that allows students to easily get out of the vehicle making it virtually impossible to bang the door against the lift. Symmetrical lifts are designed to lift the heavy trucks/SUV's.
Drive on Lift
LTCC's drive on lift is used to make oil changes and other repairs that don't require the wheels in the air a breeze. This lift also has the ability to become a alignment rack in the future. Its a level surface that can be raised up to 8 feet. The middle of the lift is wide open making of the bottom of the vehicle more accessible than a symmetrical or asymmetrical lift.
Coolant Flush Machine
At LTCC we enjoy anything that makes our lives easier as technicians. Our coolant flush machine works to provide a hands free flush. That is of course after hooking it up. This machine remove old coolant and installs new coolant all at the same time. This allows a coolant flush to take only 45 minutes compared to the 1 and 1/2 hours it used to take.
